The Social Car: Big Ideas for Teenage Driving
Abstract/Contents
- Abstract
- Our interface focuses on improving driver safety by increasing situational awareness via Bluetooth car-to-car communication, keeping driver's attention on the road while fulfilling their social media needs, and eliminating blind spots through advanced OLED projections of surroundings. By integrating the social functions of a phone into the car’s interface, we sought to both improve usability—by making the driving experience more enjoyable for teenagers—and safety—by reducing distractions associated with fumbling around with a phone.
