SBL_Phoneme2011 EEG Data
Abstract/Contents
- Abstract
- This dataset was designed and collected to study the brain mechanisms of recognizing speech. Using electroencephalography (EEG), we recorded brain responses from nine human participants as they listened to three types of speech stimuli: Continuous speech, syllables, and short words. EEG responses were collected using the Electrical Geodesics, Inc. (EGI) Geodesic EEG System (GES) 300 platform with 128 sensors, sampled at 1 kHz with vertex reference. Each participant completed six 20-minute recording sessions, for a total of 54 recordings across the nine participants. EEG recordings are published in Matlab-format (.mat) data files, each around 700 MB in size. In addition to the EEG recordings, this dataset includes a compressed archive of audio stimuli in .wav format (around 100 MB).
