Abstract/Contents
- Abstract
To facilitate green infrastructure planning, water quality crediting, and stormwater
modeling, there is a need for a simple data-based method to estimate BMP performance in stormwater pollutant removal. Commonly accepted BMP efficiency equations rely on parameterizing the k-C* wetland equation. However, no consistent method exists for estimating the key parameter of the equation, a first- order removal rate constants. This research analyzes the wealth of water quality data in the International Stormwater BMP Database to provide statistically supported estimates of rate constants. The resulting data should aid stormwater professionals in planning implementation of green infrastructure for stormwater management, as well as contribute to the field of stormwater quality modeling.
