Design and Execution of a Steam Drive Pilot with In-Situ Foaming
Abstract/Contents
- Abstract
- This thesis discusses the design and execution of a field experiment on recovery of heavy oil by steam drive with in-situ foaming by Suntech IV in the Kern River oil field, California. The project background, goals, and field work completed to date are reviewed. Several standard and experimental analytical methods have been applied to define the reservoir and to monitor the progress of the field experiment. The analysis of the results to date indicate that Suntech IV surfactant shows considerable promise in improving heavy oil recovery by steam drive with in-situ foaming.
