Biographical/Historical | Charlotte Painter, born in 1926, is a writer, poet and educator. She has authored books, short stories and poems. Her professional career began as an editor at Macmillan Publishing Co. After completing a Stegner Fellowhip at Stanford University in 1962 she went on to receive her Masters in English from Stanford in 1966 and taught there until 1969. She taught creative writing at the University of California at Berkeley, Davis and Santa Cruz, and later received tenure at San Francisco State University. |
