Essays on the allocation of local public goods
Abstract/Contents
- Abstract
- How does socio-economic status influence the distribution of local public goods? This dissertation shows that local governments systematically under-allocate public services and education resources to poor constituents. It also shows that the electoral incentives of local politicians shape such service provision.
