- Nicoletta von Heidegger (2013 BA Psychology) shares memories of her time as the Stanford Tree during her senior year. In this oral history, von Heidegger speaks about her time at Stanford, her memories of being in the Leland Stanford Junior University Marching Band (LSJUMB), and her role as the Band’s mascot. She speaks about her family background, coming to Stanford, and her decisions regarding a major and joining the Band. She describes traditions surrounding Tree Week and recalls attending events as the Tree. She also shares her inspiration for the design of her Tree and describes writing “Sex Talk with the Tree,” a column in the Stanford Daily. She concludes by talking about the importance and responsibility of being the university’s most visible mascot.

Biographical Profile | After graduating from Stanford in 2013, Nicoletta von Heidegger went on to get her Master of Arts in Clinical Psychology from Pepperdine University, her Master of Education from Widener University, and is working on her PhD in Human Sexuality. She now works as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist specializing in sex therapy in the Los Angeles area. |
