- This item contains video and audio from a Software Carpentry Workshop held August 15, 2014, on Stanford's campus and sponsored by Stanford Libraries' Data Management Services group. This workshop was a two-day, hands-on event taught by Azalee Bostroem, Chris Lonnen, Dani Traphagen, and Chris Beitel. helpers. These workshops are designed to teach researchers basic lab skills for scientific computing. While each workshop is slightly different, each typically employs tools like the shell, git, and python to teach topics such as program design, version control, data management, and task automation.
