Abstract
Even though tablets are great note taking devices, researchers still like taking paper notebooks to the field. This can slow down research because afterwards they have to transcribe or transfer their notes on paper to the cloud or a computer. Team SAP has worked to replicate the same feeling writing pen on paper to a tablet so that researchers will still have that contact as they would with a pen and a notebook but they will save time by having their notes uploaded to various other devices immediately. The team developed a device called the Nib which is a tablet that feels like paper, allows the user to navigate its interface using gestures and saves and uploads all information so that the transfer from field notes to office space is seamless.
