Abstract
For her capstone project, Janet Coleman-Belin designed a healthcare facility that would provide critical resources to individuals experiencing homelessness in the Bay Area. Drawing upon her skills in Engineering and Architectural Design, Janet developed architectural plans, sections, and elevations; utilized a 3D computerized model in Revit (an industry standard building modeling program); and created a narrative explaining the spatial design decisions. Janet also consulted health design literature and first-hand accounts from various clinic staff as a way of fully creating a holistic architectural design. Her goal with this project is to envision a multi-level and multi-use community resource equipped with essential health, educational, and social resources dedicated to assisting homeless populations.
