Abstract
This study investigates the influence of pressure dependent fluid properties, high velocity flow, and formation damage on the constant pressure production of natural gas from a bounded circular reservoir. Single phase isothermal flow is considered and the real gas pseudo pressure (m(p)) transformation of dependent variable is used. The equation governing this variable property flow problem is non-linear and no closed form analytical solution is available. The integration of the flow equation is carried results are presented in dimensionless cumulative time, t D' out by finite difference techniques and the terms of dimensionless flow rate, qD, and production, Q as functions of dimensionless D'At early and intermediate times the solutions generated to variable property problems compared well with the classical constant property solutions. However, at late times, as the outer boundary effect becomes established, differences between the constant property solutions and the variable property solutions are found. These differences are related to both the absolute and the relative pressures in the system. The same variation is found between constant and variable property solutions in cases considering formation damage. High velocity flow is found to have only a slight effect at late times, although its effects can be significant at early times.
