Cambridge, Corpus Christi College, MS 027: Zacharias of Besançon OPrem, De concordia euangelistarum
Abstract/Contents
- Summary
- CCCC MS 27, dating from the late twelfth or early thirteenth century, contains a copy of Zacharias of Besançon's De concordia evangelistarum, also known as the Vnum ex quatuor, a Gospel-harmony which also gives etymologies for Greek, Hebrew and some Latin words. Zacharias, who died in 1156, was a member of the Premonstratensian abbey at Laon, and an ex libris inscription, now lost, identified CCCC MS 27 as belonging to the Premonstratensian abbey of St Mary's, Leiston, Suffolk.
