Abstract
In the summer of 1929, P.K. Gilman and Tage Skogsberg of Hopkins Marine Station collected hydrozoans in Monterey Bay, CA (Animalia > Cnidaria > Hydrozoa). This report summarizes these efforts via taxonomic description of the animals they found, including drawings and notes. A map of Monterey Bay and the sampling locations is also included. Eleven species were identified among the suborders (of that time period) of Anthomedusae and Leptomedusae. These suborders are now known as the orders Anthothecata and Leptothecata respectively. Taxonomic classifications mentioned in this report include: Leptolinae, Anthomedusae, Codonidae, Sarsianae, Sarsia, Slabberia, Oceanidae, Tiarinae, Stomotoca, Pandea, Turris, Margelinae, Podocoryne, Leptomedusae, Eucopidae, Obelinae, Eucope, Phialinae, Staurophora, Eutiminae, and Eutima.
