Abstract
This thesis studies how bank level capital structure frictions impact both banks and borrowers. In the first chapter, I use bank level capital structure frictions to explain banks' seniority in corporate debt structure. In the second chapter, I look at how bank level capital structure frictions can be passed on to borrowers and impact both bank and borrower behavior. In the third chapter, I look at how capital regulation, bailout expectation, and deposit insurance interact with bank level capital structure frictions.
