Note Title cartouche with seated Native chief next to decorative piece with tropical bird atop (lower left).
Note Engraver's name is missing from this map, 1 of a set of the 4 continents, but the name is as above with the date of 1760 on the map of Europe.
Note California as an island with very broad, indented northern coast, and narrow center. There is a suggestion of a sea passage to its north. Great Lakes are complete. Solomon Sz are represented as large islands at 10 deg. south latitude. Similar to the work of German cartographers of the 1740s and 1750s: Seutter, Monath, and Schreiber.
