- Abstract
- Carlton Louis Ho (BS Civil Engineering, 1976; MA Civil Engineering, 1980; PhD Civil Engineering, 1984) reflects on his social and academic journey at Stanford. He speaks about growing up in Sunnyvale, California, his experience in Theta Delta Chi fraternity, and studying abroad in Germany. He elaborates on his experiences traveling around Europe, his decision to study civil engineering and the engineering curriculum, and his mentor Professor Wayne Clough. Lastly, he discusses grieving his brother’s death while he was in graduate school and his career in academia.
