- Abstract
- This report focuses on the role of vendors in preserving foreign-language newspapers from Eastern European sources. North American research libraries and institutions are interested in providing more extensive coverage for their users, but the vendor perspective reflects other needs, such as economic sustainability and the need to stay in business. What are the priorities for vendors working in this area? What avenues for future expansion are there, and what areas are not likely to be covered? What would vendors like libraries to know about how they negotiate with publishers in Eastern Europe? This report presents the results of a Question & Answer session with Bryan Benilous (East View Information Services) during the Slavic & Eastern European Discussion Group meeting on January 22, 2021.
