Abstract

Traditional training in high-growth companies is failing managers. New leaders are often promoted in an environment of fast-paced ambiguity, however, they rarely have the requisite skills to lead a team. As a result, employees are leaving their companies in droves. This is one of the key reasons for the phenomenon called The Great Resignation. In response, Sage has created a learning experience that leverages the power of self-appropriated learning by involving the managers in their learning journey.

Sage helps managers meet their own learning goals by prompting them to perform personally relevant, contextually situated actions. The actions are small, but they have a big impact on the team because the leaders have been involved in their own development. Early evidence shows that Sage is able to help managers improve their leadership behaviors.
