ALL TALK, NO ACTION: Human Trafficking in Cambodia 2022
Abstract/Contents
- Abstract
- For her human rights capstone project, Vanessa Veak worked with the Cambodian Human Rights and Development Association to produce an executive summary on the issue of human trafficking in Cambodia and why the country now falls into a Tier 3 country, the lowest tier in addressing human trafficking, according to the U.S. Department of State’s annual Trafficking in Persons (TIP) Report for 2022. The objectives of the report seek to understand and provide context to the human trafficking situation in Cambodia in the year 2022 and to discuss how governmental mechanisms in place are inadequate and lack sufficient effort in truly addressing this growing industry. Furthermore, this report seeks to deliver recommendations to survivors of trafficking and their families, anti-trafficking NGOs and CSOs, Cambodian local authorities and law enforcement, the Cambodian government, and destination countries in order to further combat the issue.
