Abstract
This dissertation consists of three chapters. The first two chapters study the economic dynamics of agents that are trying to reach a mutually beneficial agreement or transaction. Chapter 1 considers a bilateral negotiation in the presence of an external party who also cares about the outcome of the negotiation. Chapter 2, in turn, considers a problem in which a seller designs a mechanism to a sell an object to buyers for maximal revenue. Chapter 3 provides a methodological contribution to the theory of stochastic orders
