Un Librito de Salud Reproductiva (A Booklet on Reproductive Health)

Abstract/Contents

Abstract: Hiran Dewar created a booklet in Spanish with sexual health topics such as STIs, contraception, sexual harassment, sexual assault, and healthy relationships. This booklet was inspired by her work in "SPANLANG 13SL: Second-Year Spanish: Emphasis on Service Learning" where she met with Stanford workers and learned about the resource constraints that they face while spending much of their day at Stanford, an extremely resource-rich institution. Hiran’s booklet was also based on the curriculum she had previously taught for Stanford students in "WELLNESS 191: Peer Education on Comprehensive Sexual Health". To gather content for her project, Hiran worked with Stanford workers and her capstone advisor to discuss culturally relevant and accessible resources to include in the booklet and her larger human right capstone project. With the help of the Human Rights Center, this booklet will be printed and distributed among Stanford workers as a way of increasing awareness and resources available in the local community.
