- Abstract
- The Notation in Science Communication (NSC) is a multi-year undergraduate program that combines coursework, advising, and intensive reflection to help participating science and engineering students develop versatile and sophisticated communication abilities. Students in the program develop collaborative problem-solving skills, strategies for communicating effectively across media, and the ability to explain science in clear and compelling ways to a range of audiences. To earn the NSC designation on their transcript, students reflect in writing on their learning experiences and showcase their science communication expertise in an electronic portfolio reviewed and approved by faculty.
