Abstract
A student perspective chapter about the value of collaborating with faculty during an LIS internship. It includes discussing how to integrate with a faculty member’s ongoing project and how to propose a new direct collaboration opportunity with a faculty member. It outlines the steps an LIS student would need to take to make a direct collaboration happen, the opportunities it creates, and how it positively impacts the graduate student work environment by shifting the perception of the LIS intern from student to colleague.
