Panel and Interactive Discussion on Open Access from the Forum on the Future of Scientific Publishing

- Abstract
This presentation was part of the Forum on the Future of Scientific Publishing that was held Thursday, June 27, 2013, at the Li Ka Shing Center for Learning and Knowledge on the Stanford University Campus. The Forum allowed major stakeholders to present their perspectives on impending federal policy changes regarding open access to scientific research. The event included speakers from scientific society publishers, commercial publishers, university libraries, university researchers, open access advocates, companies involved in big data, government agencies.
This video includes the morning panel and interactive discussion on open access. The Interactive Discussion featured an Audience Response System (ARS) that allowed real time audience reaction to specific questions. Results were tabulated and shared immediately. Panelists responded briefly to each question.
