Characterization of Crude Oils for Miscible Flooding Using GC-MS Techniques
Abstract/Contents
- Abstract
- Detailed analyses of four Permian Basin oils by high-resolution. gas chromatography - mass spectrometry (GC/MS) are reported. More than five hundred components have been identified in each of the oils. Carbon number distributions obtained by the detailed analysis are compared to carbon number distributions determined by SIMDIS. Distributions of components based on carbon number, chemical type and size are also examined. Elution order of the compounds are investigated. Molecular weights of the oils and the molecular weight of each carbon number are calculated for the all crude oils analyzed.
