Abstract
Through a case study of the first officially-banned novel in the history of the P.R.C –“The Hinterland” (《腹地》) written by the anti-Japanese War (the second Sino-Japanese War) writer Wang Lin (王林), this thesis examines the internal track of the developing trajectory of realism literature in contemporary China, and provides different insights on the current realism literature landscape in China.
