Abstract: This polygon shapefile represents states in North America (Canada, Mexico, and the United States). Data includes state name and location by country. This layer is from Winter Quarter 2016.
Purpose: This layer is intended to assist users in locating and analyzing state data in North America and may be used for basic applications such as viewing, querying, and map output production, or to provide a basemap to support graphical overlays and analysis with other spatial data.
