- Digital copies of videotaped oral history interviews with Latvians and other nationalities living in Latvia who have lived under or fled from the Soviet and/or German occupations in Latvia; or migrated as a result of acts committed by these regimes. The interviews focus on the interwar Latvia and World War II events in the region, the interviewees' escape from the country during the war, and their life in German DP camps and the Western countries (incl. United States).

Biographical/Historical | The Museum of the Occupation of Latvia (Latvijas okupācijas muzejsis) is an historic educational institution located in Riga, Latvia. It was established in 1993 to exhibit artifacts, archive documents, and educate the public about the 51-year period in the 20th century when Latvia was successively occupied by the USSR in 1940, then by Nazi Germany in 1941, and then again by the USSR in 1944. The Museum is maintened and administered by Occupation Museum Association, registered in Latvia as a non-profit public benefit organisation. The interviews were recorded by the Museum's employees. |
