Data Repository associated with Latent Variable Modeling for the Microbiome

This item contains data, fitted models, and model evaluation data associated with the study "Latent Variable Modeling for the Microbiome." Further, we include a docker image with all dependencies preinstalled, so that analysis can be easily replicated. See the README.md for directions on using the image. The code used to generating these results are available at the github link, and inside the docker image.

In addition to providing code for fitting models, our work describes ways to investigate modeling results, through relevant diagnostics and uncertainty assessments. Our experiments suggest that text modeling techniques can be a useful alternative to standard dimension-reduction methods when samples are collected with more complex dependence structure, as is often the case in microbiome data.
