Abstract
This document explains the year long user centered design process conducted by our Stanford and UNAM team, which gave rise to a new product concept for our corporate sponsor Xylem. istï is an online platform providing a transparent connection between water delivery companies and residents in Mexico City, unifying communication, formalizing services, improving operational efficiency, and empowering communities. It features two secondary products, istïGo and istïPod. They are a route optimization algorithm and modular sensor suite respectively, that aim to complete the istï vision. This entire concept was designed with the residents of Mexico City in mind; however, it can be adapted to help other communities dealing with water related challenges around the world.
