- Stavonnie Patterson (1999 BS Biological Sciences) and Angel Martin (1999 BS Mechanical Engineering) reminisce about Stanford in the 1990s. Patterson and Martin discuss how they learned about Stanford and the impact of Admit Weekend. The pair speak about their experiences as first-generation, low-income students and the support they found through the Black Community Services Center. They discuss social life in the 1990s, including memories of traditions and parties, and recall their leadership experiences as part of Stanford’s Society of Black Scientists and Engineers.
