Peter Stansky Papers
Abstract/Contents
- Abstract
- The papers consist of three different sections, each representing a distinct academic activity: Stansky's committee involvement, publishing activities, and his library correspondence. The committee records include minutes and correspondence with various members of the Academic Senate, the Drama Department, the English Department, the Land and Building Committee, and the Foreign Campus Sub-Committee which was centered in Clivedon, England; the latter committee is also represented by class lists and syllabi. Stansky's publishing activities constitute the second major portion of the collection and include drafts of articles and books, including ENGLAND SINCE 1867 and ON NINETEEN EIGHTY-FOUR, as well as correspondence with his publishers, including Harcourt and Garland. The third part of the collection consists of his correspondence relating to the Stanford University Libraries from 1968 to 1980. An addition made in 2003 consists of two scrapbooks on Stansky's career, 1960-69. In 2014 subject files were added that contain manuscripts, research, correspondence, and reviews related to some of Stansky's publications.
