Stanford Software Carpentry Workshops

Abstract/Contents

Abstract
This collection contains video and audio from Software Carpentry Workshops held on Stanford's campus and sponsored by Stanford Libraries' Data Management Services group. Each workshop is typically a two-day, hands-on event taught by a team of instructors and helpers. The workshops are designed to teach researchers basic lab skills for scientific computing. While each workshop is slightly different, each typically employs tools like the shell, git, and python to teach topics such as program design, version control, data management, and task automation.
