Abstract
This thesis studies a range of economic issues that arise due to incomplete information when utilizing discrete choice models for estimation. First, I study the efficiency and profitability of a range of pricing plans, within the context of a market that offers subscription services. Second, I study the impact of unobserved quality in the trade of goods, showing with simulations and data how enriching a model of trade by allowing for unobserved heterogeneity (with parametric or non-parametric assumptions) can generate predictions more in line with the observed data.
