Abstract
The Stanford Solar Center is a collection of online resources related to the teaching and learning of solar science, primarily targeted to educators and students in grades 4-12 as well as informal science settings. Developed between 1996 and 2018 as an Education and Public Outreach project for NASA and NSF, the resources include activities, projects, resources, student-based models, and information related to the Sun, space weather, solar music/art/literature, solar folklore, information about ancient observatories, fun activities for students and cirrucula support materials for teachers. Formats include documents, visuals, quizzes, games, comics, online explorations, instructions for projects, and others. The collection was envisioned and created by Deborah Scherrer, a member of the Solar Observatories Group in the Hansen Experimental Physics Lab.
