Abstract/Contents
- Abstract
- Eleanor Hedenkamp (BS Nursing, 1966) speaks about her undergraduate experience at Stanford in the 1960s, her education at the Stanford School of Nursing, and her career as a nurse. She reflects on the transformation of the medical system since her time at Stanford, noting a shift towards hard science and away from patient-focused care, and offers her thoughts on the closing of the School of Nursing in the 1970s. She also shares her memories of student traditions, the Stanford Home for Convalescent Children (the Con Home), and the campus response to the assassination of John F. Kennedy Jr.
