- This digital collection makes available high quality scans of nearly 1500 photographs by Ernest Nash, a prolific documentarian who captured hundreds of ancient sites in Rome from the period 1936-1961. The extensive physical collection (some 5000 images all told) is hosted by the Fototeca Unione at the American Academy in Rome. Nash’s collection is an essential reference work and remains among the largest and most comprehensive photographic record of archeological sites of Rome.
