Jing Lyman
Abstract/Contents
- Abstract
- Jing Lyman (1925-2013), former first lady of Stanford, reflects on the role that the Stanford University Women’s Club has played in the community and recounts some of her own interactions with the club as a member and later during her husband’s presidency. She reflects on some of its struggles to keep up with the times, including the inclusion of programming on job opportunities and continuing education for women and the establishment of the Resource Center for Women (later called the Career Action Center). Lyman also discusses the rotating art exhibit space she established at Hoover House, which initially featured work from faculty wives.
