Michelle Friend : Interview for Stanford Community Women's March Oral History Project

- Abstract
Michelle Friend (2017 PhD Education- Learning Science and Tech Design) recalls her experiences attending the Women’s March in Washington, DC; her mother’s last-minute decision to attend the march with her, her three friends, and the young daughter of one of her friends; and the perspectives of these three generations on the march. Friend also describes how she has been inspired to take a more active role in politics and expressing her views since moving to Nebraska.
Friend received her PhD in Learning Science and Tech Design in 2017 from the Stanford Graduate School of Education where she specialized in computer science education and gender equity. She is now an assistant professor of education at the College of Education at University of Nebraska, Omaha.
