Sierra Killian : Interview for Stanford Community Women's March Oral History Project
Abstract/Contents
- Abstract
- Sierra Killian (2018 BS Earth Systems) recounts participating in the Women’s March during the quarter she spent in Washington, DC. Killian was an intern in the Environment and Natural Resources Division of the Department of Justice as part of the Stanford in Washington program. She recalls how her disagreement with president-elect Trump’s environmental policies and her dismay at his comments about women inspired her to march. She contrasts attending the Women’s March with attending the inauguration the day before and reflects on the protests and rallies she attended in DC during the remainder of her time there. Killian graduated from Stanford in 2018 with a BS in Earth Systems and is currently working towards her MS at Stanford.
