Bibliographic information
Note | Description based on typed notes on disc sleeves (some have added accents and other corrections, possibly by Suzanne Comhaire-Sylvain?). |
---|---|
Note | The disc is a copy of field recordings from an expedition in Haiti conducted by Alan Lomax, his fiancee Elizabeth Lyttleton Harold, and his assistant Revolie Polinice for the Library of Congress in 1936 and 1937. The specific titles were requested by Suzanne Comhaire-Sylvain in 1942, and were duplicated on fragile glass-core discs (due to war-time rationing of aluminum, which is what the original recordings were recorded on). The glass-core disc was reformatted by Stanford University Libraries in 2018. |
