Abstract: Steven Watson (1970 BA English) describes his early life, coming out to his parents, and gay life at Stanford in the late 1960s. He also talks about his life in New York, where he worked in a community mental health center and pursued a career as a writer. He concludes the interview by encouraging the Stanford LGBT community to “remember the past” when being gay was not as easy as it is today.
