- As Bob Fitch's entire archive portrays, marches, demonstrations, and related events were common during the 55-year span of his documentary photography. Much continues today. This gallery is a select presentation of social justice actions not displayed in other Fitch galleries. These events are, however, of special interest to the photographer due to his personal involvement with the causes at hand. Images include the Free Speech Movement at UC Berkeley, Vietnam and Iraq anti-war demonstrations, actions against military recruitment, a cruel police attack on college student protesters, a blockade of an aircraft carrier's departure, mothers and families mourning gang deaths, union pickets at a skid row blood center, an immigrant rights march, and a shelter for the homeless.
