Thomas Patrick Cordova received his undergraduate degree in Molecular and Cell Biology from Stanford in 2009. He later received his JD from NYU School of Law.
In this interview, Cordova speaks about his experiences growing up in different parts of the United States and coming out to his parents, who were accepting of his sexuality. He describes his experiences at Stanford including his advocacy through the Bridge Peer Counseling Center for creating a culture that supported LGBT students. His work aimed to improve access to quality health care. For his service, Cordova was awarded the Lloyd W. Dinkelspiel Award and the Sterling Award for Undergraduates.
Cordova also recalls serving at-risk LGBT youth as a Huffington Pride Fellow with the Bronx Community Pride Center in New York, reflects on the issues of diversity and equality within the gay community, and describes some of the hubs of gay life in New York, including Fire Island.
