- Stanford professor Chris Field, professor of biological sciences at Stanford and director of the Carnegie Institution's Department of Global Ecology, discusses his March 16 study, which found that global warming caused annual losses of about $5 billion for wheat, corn and other major food crops between 1981 and 2002.
