Abstract: Katarina van Alebeek, a Stanford undergraduate, discusses attending the Women’s March in San Francisco. She recalls her prior exposure to feminist activism and her reasons for attending the march with members of her sorority, Delta Delta Delta. Narrating the day of the march, she recalls a surprising feeling of solemnity and comments that the rain, which blurred the messages on their sign, seemed to appropriately symbolize the occasion. She describes her post-march activism with the campus Women’s Coalition related to educating women about birth control options and offers her opinion on criticism of the march.
