| Note | This edition changes the U.S. map, adds Wyoming to the North America map, adds the map of the northwest states and several other maps (but not to the U.S. map). Has an unusual Alaska map. In several of the western maps (Iowa, etc.) the phrase "Township Map of..." that appeared in the 1868 atlas, is dropped. Florida and New Jersey are enlarged to double page. Bound in half leather brown cloth covered boards stamped with "Colton's General Atlas With Descriptions" in gilt on the front, and "Colton's General Atlas. Colton & Co." on the spine. |
