MemoryDrive: A Smart, Synchronizing User Preference System for Rental Cars
Abstract/Contents
- Abstract
MemoryDrive allows users store the preferences that define their rental
car driving experience on a “drive”--that is, the MemoryDrive smartphone application. They can
then use any vehicle with the system installed, and the vehicle will adjust to match the specified
settings. The application allows users to adjust various aspects of their driving environment by
inputting information about themselves and defining their ideal driving experience.
MemoryDrive creates a safer, more personalized driving experience by allowing users to
customize preferences such as seat position, headrest height, autonomy level, mirror position,
window tint, and the sensitivity of the gas/brake pedals and the steering wheel. The driver’s
secondary experience is also enhanced by pre-set preferences for radio and other media, a
convenient navigation system, local traffic and weather reporting, and the ability to take and
make hands-free phone calls with a connected smartphone. All of these preferences can be
established before ever stepping foot in a MemoryDrive car, and adjusting a car to match these
settings requires nothing more than the smartphone app. A driver can use any rental car with the
system installed, and it will feel just like his or her own car.
