Abstract: This shapefile contains points for locations referenced in Environmental Impact Reports (EIRs) of Monterey County, California. The purpose in preparing an EIR is to provide the public and the decision-makers with detailed information about a project's environmental effects, ways to minimize the project's significant environmental effects, and reasonable alternatives to the project.Reports are dated between 1974 and 1996. This layer is part of a collection of GIS data for Monterey County in California.
Purpose: This dataset is intended for researchers, students, and policy makers for reference and mapping purposes, and may be used for basic applications such as viewing, querying, and map output production, or to provide a basemap to support graphical overlays and analysis with other spatial data.
