Smartshield: The windshield of the future
Abstract/Contents
- Abstract
The SmartShield is a digitized windshield that can show drivers information about traffic, restaurants etc., keep them safer, and provide entertainment all in one interface. The four main utilities of SmartShield are:
Amenity Information: includes information from Yelp (hours, ratings, price) and crowd-sourced data (how safe the area is, how long it will take to get there, the best restaurant to go to that’s on the route home) and keep tabs of your favorites
Traffic Patterns: show traffic conditions, speed traps & traffic stops, have settings for fastest, safest, shortest etc. routes home that you can choose from
Safety: showing safest times to merge & exit, the speed & driving regularity of those around you (from data from their SmartShields)
Entertainment: put the car in “tourist mode”, use the roof to project a movie or look at the night sky.
